1 lifeless, a minimum of three others shot in gunfire at a bar in NW Houston, officers say

HOUSTON – A person and at least three others were shot dead in a shooting Thursday night in a bar in northwest Houston, officials said.

The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. at Sammy J’s Bar and Grill at 9717 North Houston Rosslyn Road, according to the Harris County Police Department.

Houston police said a man and woman were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but the man died in the hospital. Two other victims later came to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Update: 2 people were transported to hospital because of gunshot wounds. District One MPs are still there. No further details at the moment. #hounews

Officials said it was unclear whether the shooting took place inside or outside the facility.

Several agencies, EMS and HPD respond to the scene.

Residents are asked to avoid the area.

There is currently no suspicious information.
