HOUSTON (KXAN) – Houston police are searching for a shooter after a person was shot in the leg at Galleria Mall on Friday night.
The officers responded to the mall shortly before 8 p.m., according to Houston police.
Police said the man shot someone in the mall near the food court and then ran to the parking garage. An off duty officer approached the suspect in the garage area and they exchanged shots.

The victim, who was shot in the leg, was taken to the hospital and the officer, who is a five-year veteran, was not injured.
The police don’t know if the suspect has been hit, but they are still looking for him. The mall has been locked but police believe he has left the area.
Police described the suspect as a black man in his early twenties wearing a white shirt, black pants and a “European” bag with a strap over his shoulder.
