Make a note in the calendar, because you don’t want to miss these delicious culinary experiences:

Homemade ice cream is back at Malaysian street food favorite Phat Eatery, 23119 Colonial Parkway, and fans can take advantage of a limited-time special until July 31: three pints for the price of two. Choose from flavors like ube (purple yam with a subtle nut-vanilla flavor), pandan coconut with curry sprinkles, and creamy durian. Promotion applies to takeaway, takeaway and delivery items.

National Fried Chicken hits the market on Tuesday July 6th, and since we can always use an excuse to enjoy great fried chicken, there are plenty of ways to celebrate in Houston. La Lucha, 1801 North Shepherd, is selling their Honey Butter Fried Chicken Biscuit (usually a brunch-only item) for $ 12.95. At Frank’s Americana Revival, 3736 Westheimer, guests can enjoy buttermilk-fried chicken with a glass of Stagaard Gruner Veltliner Handwerk 2018 for 43 US dollars. Loch Bar, 4444 Westheimer, sells its Eastern Shore Fried Chicken for $ 23 for half or $ 45 for a whole (served with fries or garlic mush), and guests can get it for an additional $ 5 Combine with any local beer. Relish Restaurant & Bar, 2810 Westheimer, has its incredible roast chicken all day (it’s usually only available during dinner) and has a two-piece plate of hot honey and a choice of cotija corn or potato salad for $ 18 for dinner or to go.

Tacodeli, 1902 Washington, is offering a time-limited Barbacoa Taco ($ 4.25) available Tuesday July 6 through Sunday August 1, available all day for breakfast and lunch at all locations.

Ember & Greens, 9403B Katy Freeway, wraps up its Fido photo contest (where you can win prizes by submitting the funniest, cutest, or a combination of both dog photos) with a doggy-friendly Sunday brunch, which runs from 1:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Sunday, July 11th, 4pm to enter the photo contest, take a picture of your dog and follow and tag Lola & Baxter and Ember & Greens on Instagram or Facebook or post a picture on your story page or feed and tag @emrandgreens and @ lolaandbaxter and use the hashtag #AllAmericanPetPhotoDay until Friday, July 9th, noon. The brunch has special prices for food, doggie-themed libations and, as dogs are welcome on the terrace, Lola and Baxter snacks. The full Ember & Greens Sunday brunch menu will be available.

Chef Matt Staph will host a Date Night Cooking Class at Brennan’s of Houston, 3300 Smith, on Friday, July 16. The evening begins with a reception at 6.30 p.m., followed by a cooking demonstration and a dinner with wine accompaniment at 7 a.m. The cost is $ 150 per couple, plus tax and tip.
