Tuesday July 27th

Wine event “Rheinstone Cowboy” in the Feges BBQ Spring Branch

In the Feges BBQ Spring Branch, 8217 Long Point, guests can enjoy “Rheinstone Cowboy” from 5 to 7 p.m., a Wines of Germany takeover from white wines to hearty red wines, each paired with a specific dish on the menu (and a range all five wines are offered for sale at a reduced price). Try combinations from Von Buhl Sparkling Rosé with Feges Fried Chicken to Kruger-Rumpf Scheurebe with Beef Rib Bulgogi.

Buffalo Trace Distillery Bourbon Dinner at Whiskey Cake Baybrook

Whiskey Cake Baybrook, 18840 Gulf Freeway, hosts a five-course dinner at 7:00 pm of chef-prepared dishes and award-winning whiskeys from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Guests are guided through Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskeys with matching combinations by Michelle Solomon of Sazerac. with dishes from jumbo lump crab cakes to smoked brisket steak fries. High West Distillery Dinner at the Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar Stafford

Whiskey Cake Stafford, 12575 Southwest Freeway, has a 5-course dinner at 7:00 pm at the High West Distillery. Guests can sample craft cocktails and spirits from the Utah-based distillery while enjoying complementary dinner pairings from Texas quail and cowboy caviar to lamb pot pie. Friday July 30th

Summer BBQ & Brews series at Pinstripes

Pinstripes Houston, 3300 Kirby, continues its new Summer BBQ & Brews Series with barbecue in conjunction with a local brewer on the terrace. In July the beers will be presented by Karbach, followed by 8th Wonder (Friday, August 27th). The fun takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. while guests enjoy balsamic BBQ ribs, pesto chicken, sliders, mac and cheese, watermelon, brownies, and more on the terrace for $ 40 per person (bowling for an additional charge).

Christmas in July at Present Company

Current company

, 1318 Westheimer, invites you to enjoy frosty drinks for Christmas throughout the month of July. The festive bar is decked out with a 20-foot inflatable Beach Santa on the roof and Christmas decorations, and beverage director Rex Nielsen has created a Christmas cocktail menu with a mini Christmas tree that the ornaments keep shots on.

Saturday July 31st

Tex-Mex cooking class in Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen

Chief owner Sylvia Casares will be teaching a Tex-Mex aperitif class from 1pm to 4pm at Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen, 1140 Eldridge, Salsa and Roasted Tomato Salsa. The cost is $ 65 per person and includes all materials, lessons, and a meal. Register online or call 832-230-3842.

Sunday 1st August

Katy Enchiladapalooza at Phat Eatery

On select dates through August 15, several Katy restaurants are offering specialty enchilada dishes valued at $ 16, with 20 percent of all sales going to the local charity, The Ballad House. This Sunday, Phat Eatery, 23119 Colonial Parkway, is serving up curry chicken enchiladas in roti tortillas.

Houston Restaurant Weeks kickoff

The first day of Houston Restaurant Weeks is this Sunday and runs through Labor Day while supporting restaurants and raising funds for the Houston Food Bank. New in the line-up this year are exciting spots like Fegen’s, Xin Chào and The Nash in the city center. Search the entire library of participating restaurants and their HRW menus to start booking reservations now.

New and ongoing specials

Summer Olympics cocktail menu at Eighteen36

Eighteen36, 2221 West Alabama, is introducing a new craft cocktail menu for diners to enjoy while cheering on their favorite athletes during this year’s Olympics, and a percentage of the proceeds from cocktail sales will go to Special Olympics Texas. The drinks are handcrafted to resemble the five Olympic rings, each with a bright color and unique flavor profile, from the Sazerac and pomegranate-kissed Triple Jump to the Saint James Rhum Blank and Blue Curacao-Spiked High Dive.

Hatch Green Chile Taco at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has added the Hatch Green Chile Taco to its menu for a limited time, with shredded spicy pork or shredded chicken with Fuzzy’s signature garlic sauce, avocado slices, feta and coriander with a homemade hatch green chili sauce on a warm flour tortilla. Guests can enjoy the new taco until Sunday August 29th.

The return of Omakase at Kata Robata

Omakase is back at Kata Robata, 3600 Kirby. Chef Manabu “Hori” Horiuchi’s menu varies depending on the type of fish he sources from Japan every day, but it is always a mix of hot and cold dishes. There are only eight omakase tastings per night (not available on Sundays or Wednesdays) and the price averages between $ 150 and $ 200.
