Houston Restaurant Weeks, the largest annual fundraiser of its kind in town, is back this year with over 200 restaurants expected to attend. Seven of them are in the Bay Area.

From August 1st through September 6th, these restaurants will be offering special menus, with a portion of the profits from each meal donated to the Houston Food Bank. The fundraiser has raised more than $ 16 million in donations to the grocery bank since its inception in 2003 while helping local businesses, as announced on the Houston Restaurant Weeks website.

Additional participating restaurants will be added to the Houston Restaurant Weeks website by August 1, officials said. Each participant puts together multi-course fixed-price menus including brunch, lunch and dinner at special prices. There are meals for dinner and take away.
