The luxury real estate market is a big change compared to the war-torn youth that top-producing Douglas Elliman agent Moni Bohnisch had to flee from Lebanon in 1976. She moved to the United States in hopes of a better life and began her Houston roots, a decision she cherishes to this day.

RIVER OAK

The crème de la crème of luxury Houston real estate. Founded in the 1920s by Will and Michael Hogg, it is one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the United States and the site of the city’s most spectacular exhibition of historic Houston architecture.

River Oaks is all about lavish estates that dominate the lush landscape and oak-lined streets. Real estate value in the community ranges from $ 1 million to more than $ 20 million.

MONUMENT

This is a great area to have all of the metropolitan amenities within easy reach without being in the busy city center. The wooded, affluent area lies between the Energy Corridor and Downtown Houston and offers a prime location. But it brings more private and secluded country living than its luxury rival River Oaks. For families, it is divided into two top school districts, SBISD and KISD.

STABLE WOOD

Behind the gates of this elite uptown enclave are around 135 sprawling houses. The exclusive gated community extends over 72 acres just outside the Inner Loop. Originally the site of a summer family resort for one of Houston’s best-known families, it was then remodeled and modeled on North and South Boulevards in Boulevard Oaks to become the current upscale neighborhood it is today.

TANGLEWOOD

From celebrities and gamers from Houston Texans to CEOs and former US presidents, it’s one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Houston. While it’s just outside the loop, Tanglewood provides a wooded retreat for residents who prefer a peaceful and relaxed lifestyle. Still, it offers easy access to The Galleria and Uptown shopping centers. The decade-old live oaks and numerous hiking and biking trails are perfect for fitness and outdoor lovers.

“I have personally lived in Tanglewood for 21 years. There is never a lack of activities, ”says Bohnisch. “In addition to the beautiful houses, one of the most attractive features of this area is the nearby shopping and dining options.

“It’s just a few turns from the River Oaks District, home to world-class high-end designer boutiques, Uptown, Galleria, Memorial Park, and high-end restaurants. I also love the outdoors and like to stay active by enjoying a daily run on Tanglewood Boulevard, which is lined with majestic oak trees. “

WEST UNIVERSITY

While technically a city, this is the perfect Houston location to raise a family. Since it is a small town, it is common for West U residents to lounge in their gardens and watch the children play. The schools are among the highest rated in all of HISD.

The sense of community makes it something very special and creates an atmosphere that is fun for the children. It is minutes from many of Houston’s top locations including Hermann Park, The Museum District, Texas Medical Center and Rice University.

AFTON OAKS

Located between the Galleria and the Highland Village, this upscale community of more than 500 homes is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Inner Loop Houston. Its location, atmosphere and proximity to Houston’s world-class shopping, dining and entertainment – including Highland Village, River Oaks District, The Galleria and Uptown – continue to keep Afton Oaks in high demand.
