Fireman injured whereas combating campfires in west Houston

HOUSTON – A firefighter was injured while fighting a campfire in western Houston on Friday, officials said.

According to the Houston Fire Department, the crews reacted to the fire in the Ruland 9000 block around 5 p.m.

Investigators said the first call revealed that a car was on fire at AA Self and Boat Storage. When the crews arrived, however, 16 units were on fire.

10 of them are most likely a total write-off, according to the investigators.

Several crews fight the flames.

The injured firefighter was slightly injured, according to the officials. How the firefighter was injured is unclear.
