HOUSTON (KIAH) The Houston Food Bank was recently named one of the top 50 by the non-profit Times Power & Influence. The 24th Annual Awards recognized 50 top executives from across the country, many of whom were affiliated with nonprofits who, with their employees, found a way to adapt to and overcome the rigors of a 100 year pandemic.

According to the group, the top 50 distinguished themselves as initiators, innovators and leaders.

“The year may have ushered in a new era in philanthropy, with major funders and foundations cutting red tape and funding conditions. The infrastructure is finally getting the respect it deserves, ”said Paul Clolery, NPT Vice President & Editorial Director. “The hardships have been covered extensively, but the reality that the sector has been waiting years for a response was barely mentioned. The development of the thinking, planning, and implementing 360-degree services with an emphasis on housing, nutrition, and health care has held a nation together. Executives, in some cases, risked their lives by dumping personal safety threats to ensure that those who needed help raised as much as possible. “

The Houston Food Bank currently distributes approximately £ 650,000. Food per day.

“Although I was personally selected for this award, it was accepted on behalf of the entire Houston Food Bank family, an extremely dedicated and hard-working team that gave it their all during one of the most challenging times in our personal and professional lives,” said Grune . “I am proud of each individual and of what we have achieved together.”

The 2021 award winners were selected from a group of around 300 top executives.
