Houston mom killed in Annapolis: reward elevated to $ 57,000

WBAL reports that Annapolis Police Chief Ed Jackson made an announcement on Friday that the reward money was increased.

Several anonymous alumni of the Naval Academy have partnered with the Police Foundation to provide an additional $ 25,000 towards the reward.

Michelle Cummings, 57, was fatally struck by a stray bullet on the terrace of an Annapolis hotel.

She and her husband were in town from Houston for their son Trey’s induction ceremony. Trey Cummings was a football player at Westfield High School in Spring, Texas.

The police chief said he hoped the extra money would make someone “do the right thing and come forward”.
