Houston Restaurant Weeks

All month until Labor Day

Houston Restaurant Weeks now run through Labor Day, with restaurants across town joining in to offer fixed-price menus in support of the Houston Food Bank (the charity has raised a whopping US $ 16.6 million over the years Dollars collected for the Food Bank). . Check out HRW standbys like the soulful Creole fine-dining Brennan’s, the Mexican seaside Caracol and Peli Peli South African Kitchen, or browse the list of restaurants and menus to find a new favorite spot.

Conroe’s favorite Southern Star is the next stop in Run’s 5K Six Pack Series in Texas. The run starts and ends at the brewery, with a water stop at the 1.5 mile point manned by Toys for Tots. After the run, participants can visit the tasting room for their finisher glass and up to two 16-ounce tastings, plus food trucks, brewery tours, music, and more. Start is at 8am and registration costs $ 65 per runner.

Help the brewery celebrate their fifth anniversary with their tiki-style anniversary party, where you’ll find Hawaiian-style beer releases including fruity sours and the return of Final Boss, and island cuisine from smoked suckling pig sliders to huli-huli- Chicken. There will also be live music, photo ops, and super cool swag. The event is open to the public and the fun lasts from 12pm to 6pm. Guests can also purchase $ 50 tickets to a special pre-party guided tasting event that includes breakfast, an anniversary flight, an anniversary glass, and an hour of open water; and those who want to celebrate from home can win anniversary to-go packs (US $ 100 including five packs of 4, two different anniversary glasses, an exclusive print and sticker).

Play with puppies, adopt your new best friend, and cool off with ice cold foam at this pet adoption event from Little Woody’s and Houston Pets Alive. The HPA accepts donations and if you bring animal feed / supplies you will receive a Lone Star beer on the house.

Throughout August, Mutiny Wine Room will celebrate St. Roch Day (officially August 16) with a fundraiser for PupSquad that will donate $ 1 for every glass of wine and $ 5 for every bottle sold to the local nonprofit and organization to support their mission to rescue and restore orphaned puppies. And on this Sunday there is an additional all-day celebration for the patron saint of the dog with a 10 percent discount on all bottles for consumption on site.
