Man fatally shot in entrance of his dwelling in northeast Houston

HOUSTON Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department Homicide Squad sought help from the public to track down the gunman who fatally shot a person outside his home in northeast Houston.

The incident occurred at around 7:10 p.m. on Friday, July 30, outside the victim’s home, located on the 7900 block on Matson Street, in accordance with the Houston Police Department.

A surveillance video of the incident, launched by the Houston Police Department, shows the suspect car, a purple four-door Chevrolet sedan, drove past the victim’s home prior to his arrival. When the victim returned to his house and parked in his driveway, the crimson Chevrolet pulled up in front of the house. A passenger in the Chevrolet got out of the car armed with an assault rifle and fired a series of shots into the victim’s car, hanging the victim. Then the shooter, a skinny black man in black clothing, climbed back into the passenger seat of the Chevrolet and fled the scene.


Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a space hospital where he was later pronounced dead, in accordance with the Houston Police Department.
