Police need assistance figuring out the alleged assassin on the run within the Houston space

HOUSTON (CW39) Houston Police Department investigators are seeking help from the public in identifying a suspect accused of shooting a man on the 7620 Katy Freeway in West Houston on April 4.

The victim is identified as Miguel Vasquez, 37.

Vasquez and his young daughter were walking to their vehicle in the parking lot of a store at the above address when a male suspect tried to steal Vasquez’s property at gunpoint, according to investigators. During the robbery, the suspect shot and killed Vasquez and left the scene. Houston Fire Department medics took Vasquez to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities. His daughter was not injured.

Investigators say the suspect is only described as a skinny grown black man. Further investigation revealed that he ran to a vehicle (of unknown make and model) and left the crime scene. You can find surveillance video of the vehicle on the HPD YouTube channel at: https://youtu.be/jCPwTKoLxJ4
