Rockets staff and executives give again on the Houston Meals Financial institution occasion

Houston Rockets and Toyota Center employees attended a company-wide volunteer day at the Houston Food Bank on Wednesday. General Manager Rafael Stone, Head Coach Stephen Silas, Business Operations President Gretchen Sheirr, and Owner Paige Fertitta were among those who helped sort donation items and pack food supplies.

Houston Food Bank is the largest US food bank selling to a network of 1,500 community partners in 18 counties in southeast Texas. It provides nutritious meals to pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and other facilities, and supplies over a million people each year.

“I feel very blessed to have volunteered with Rockets employees at the Houston Food Bank,” said Fertitta. “It is humbling to know that we have influenced thousands of families facing food insecurity.”

According to Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston, the team’s volunteer efforts helped prepare 91,666 meals in the morning shift alone. Many employees were returning to work the afternoon shift as well, and some (including Stone and Silas) brought their family members with them as well.

“Feels good doing good,” Stone wrote on Twitter. Below is a compilation of photos and videos of their volunteer efforts.

Give something back to @HoustonFoodBank. 🙏
