Suspected shooter, 2 others killed in gunfire at a motel in northwest Houston, police say

HOUSTON – Police said a suspected shooter, man and woman were dead after a shooting at a motel in northwest Houston on Sunday.

Officials said the shooting occurred at the Palace Inn at 3421 Antoine around 11:05 pm.

Police said they received a call from someone they believe is the suspect, who said he has guns and was about to injure or shoot someone.

“That happened then … He murdered two people on the balcony on the second floor. It doesn’t appear that it was domestic violence or that he knew the victims. The suspect shot her before the officers arrived, ”said Matt Slinkard of the Houston Police Department after the officers saw the surveillance tape.

When officers arrived, police said the suspect shot their patrol cars from the balcony on the second floor. Three officers returned fire, and at one point the police said the suspect had fallen to the ground. Police said when officers went to the second floor, they found the two victims.

According to investigators, two other people were injured in the parking lot when the suspect shot over the balcony.

According to the police, the suspect is a 35-year-old man. Officers are unsure whether the suspect was killed in an exchange of fire with police or whether he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
