SUV lands in Houston throughout police chase

Police said they tried to stop the man because he ran over a traffic light and he stopped briefly just to drive away.

HOUSTON – A prosecution suspect was detained early Monday after an accident in a house in southeast Houston, police said.

Lt. C. Bruce said the chase began when the suspect allegedly ran over a red light. The driver, who was sitting in a black SUV, initially stopped for the police.

As the officers approached, they said it appeared the suspect was dealing with a lot of narcotics. They ordered the driver to stop and get out of the SUV, but the suspect allegedly ran away instead.

A brief chase followed until the driver lost control and hit a mast and then crashed into a house on Yellowstone Boulevard.

The suspect was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.

According to the police, the man is now facing several charges. No names were published.
