HOUSTON PARKS & RECREATION SWIMMING COURSES

The city of Houston offers two different programs for learning to swim. H20Safe and SwimWise are both free!

SwimWise– For infants, children and adults. Lessons take place from Tuesday to Friday for 30 minutes each in two-week steps. You have to register online.

H20Safe– For children ages 6 to 13, this course teaches water safety, swimming skills and strokes. These courses also take place from Tuesday to Friday for 30 minutes each in two weekly periods. Register online.

HARRIS COUNTY SWIMMING COURSES

Harris County is located at local YMCAs, community centers, and high schools and offers free swimming lessons for children and adults. Classes are available during the summer and you will need to register online as soon as the class times are published.

TYPHOON TEXAS SWIMMING COURSES

This local water park offers free swimming lessons once a year during the summer. Space is limited to 300 people and you must log in to gain access. Bookmark their calendar to keep up to date with openings and freebies.

YMCA SWIMMING LESSON IN HOUSTON, TX

Local YMCAs work with local businesses each year to provide free swimming lesson events to local residents. Sign up for updates from the YMCA near you for dates next summer.
